U.S. military wants to create cyborg soldiers

The U.S. military is working to create a chip that can be
implanted in a soldier’s brain to connect it directly to computers that can
deliver data on an enemy’s position, maps and battle instructions.

The Defense
Advanced Research Projects Agency
(DARPA)
has developed the brain-machine interface, claiming that the neural connection
is going to open the channel between modern electronics and the human brain.
According to DARPA’s Neural Engineering System Design program, Phillip
Alveda, cited by
Computer World, the soldier cyborgs would be better and safer fighters due
to the implanted chip.
